Administrative Coordinator for the Proteomics Research Infrastructure (Maternity Cover)

To support the administrative activities at PRI, we are in search of a qualified Administrative Coordinator to support us from February to September 2025. The environment in the PRI is vibrant, ambitious, and international, with many different nationalities represented. The working language is English.

Spearheaded by the generous backing of the Novo Nordisk Foundation (NNF), the Proteomics Research Infrastructure (PRI) stands as a cutting-edge mass spectrometry (MS)-based proteomics research facility. This state-of-the-art infrastructure ensures seamless and prompt access to the latest proteomics technologies for researchers across Nordic countries, delivering comprehensive assistance encompassing consultancy, sample preparation, MS measurements, and data analysis. Beyond its instrumental role in research, PRI actively shares proteomics knowledge and advancements with the local research and industry communities.

Situated at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen (PANUM) in the heart of the city, PRI operates in close collaboration with the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Research (CPR). With a robust user base that transcends institutional boundaries, PRI supports a diverse community of researchers from many different backgrounds.

Job description

We are recruiting an organized, structured, and highly motivated person for the Administrative Coordinator maternity cover. The position will cover a variety of administrative tasks and therefore we are looking for an open-minded generalist to assist with the tasks mentioned below:

  • In collaboration with the Finance department, the coordinator issues invoices and acts as a bridge between PRI customers and the Finance department.
  • Monitor the facility’s budget and prepare budget reports throughout the year, in collaboration with the Finance department.
  • Support the PRI Director with reporting to the Novo Nordisk Foundation.
  • Assist in ordering equipment, consumables and ensuring procurement adheres to tender regulations.
  • Public representation of PRI, including press releases and social media presence, in collaboration with the Communication department.
  • Personal assistance to the PRI director, including calendar administration and coordinating meeting and travelling activities
  • Activity coordination within PRI, (e.g. organizing training courses, data club, retreats)
  • Ad-hoc administrative tasks.
  • Collaborate with the administrative departments at the central university level (Finance Department, HR, Communications, IT, Legal).

 

Qualifications

In close collaboration with the Director, the Administrative Coordinator must provide structure to the administrative activities at PRI, keep an overview of tasks and work independently. Further qualifications include:

 

  • A relevant master’s level university degree (e.g. business administration, communications, etc.)
  • Experience with public sector administration will be seen as an advantage
  • Open and positive personality and team-player
  • Self-motivated, highly-organized, with strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills
  • Solid computer skills 
  • Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English and Danish

Terms of salary and employment

Your employment will be at Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Research, University of Copenhagen. The position is full-time (37 hours per week), it is open for appointment per 1 February 2025, or as soon as possible, and is a fixed position until 30 September 2025.

The employment and salary conditions are in accordance with the Circular on the Collective Agreement concerning academics in the state sector concluded between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).

The position will be as either Academic Staff or Special Consultant, depending on background and experience of the chosen candidate, and salary level will be determined by the AC agreement. Negotiation for a salary supplement is possible.
