Laboratory Assistant for the Computational Chemistry Unit

We are looking for an experienced Laboratory Assistant to support the work of the Computational Chemistry Unit at The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research (CBMR), to start February 1, 2023.


Our research

The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research’s vision is to strengthen interdisciplinary research that transforms our basic understanding of the mechanisms that underlie metabolic health and disease, and to accelerate this knowledge toward new prevention and treatment strategies. We were established in 2010 and in 2017, we moved into new laboratories, offices and meeting rooms in the Maersk Tower

Our group and research

The Computational Chemistry Unit provides state-of-the-art computational chemistry tools to the CBMR community. We develop and apply cutting-edge computational methods to enable structure-based discovery and medicinal chemistry optimization of pharmacological tool compounds and drug leads. These are used to characterize the physiological role of new metabolic target proteins discovered by CBMR researchers to advance basic science and to promote innovation at the CBMR.

The different job tasks will be

  • Lab cleaning
  • Aliquoting
  • Registration and storing of materials
  • Labelling of tubes and samples
  • Preparing reagents and buffers

Place of employment

The place of employment is the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research, Maersk Tower, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen. We offer creative and stimulating working conditions in a dynamic and international research environment.

Terms of salary and employment

The employment as laboratory Assistant is a part time and permanent position. The average working hours is 12 hours pr. week. Expected starting date is February 1, 2023.

Employment as Laboratory Assistant will be in accordance with the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and OAO/HK STAT. The position is placed in salary group 1.
