Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen

We are looking for a highly motivated and independent staff scientist to support our efforts in multi-omics and spatial metagenomics data generation to commence on December 1th 2024.

Our research

The Center for Evolutionary Hologenomics (CEH) is a Center of Excellence funded by the Danish National Research Foundation to study how interaction between genes and microbes determine biological evolution by developing and implementing state-of-the-art ‘omics and associated computational techniques, to address through experimental and theoretical research. CEH's main purpose is to address basic scientific questions through interdisciplinary approaches, operating at the intersection of natural sciences, medical sciences and the humanities. CEH provides an inclusive and international work environment, where interdisciplinarity and creativity are key. CEH is located in beautiful central Copenhagen, and frequent scientific and social events contribute to a collaborative atmosphere.

The animal-microbiota interactions lab lead by Associate Professor Antton Alberdi specialises in the generation and analysis of multi-omic animal-microbiota data in both wild and production animals. The team develops and implements multiple technological approaches to disentangle host-microbiota interactions, including genome-resolved metagenomics, community modelling, micro-scale metagenomics and in vitro models.

Your job
