The Protein and Peptide facility at Department of Drug design and Pharmacology has one vacant position as a student employee/ Laboratory Assistant (monthly paid).
About the department
The Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology (ILF) is a part of the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen. Approximately 300 scientific and administrative staff members are employed at the department (2018) and delivers research and teaching within a wide range of disciplines.
About the Protein and peptide facility
The facility provides a number of labs with equipment for protein production, DNA cloning, crystallization, and cell culturing of E-coli and higher cells.
The tasks will mainly consist of:
- Autoclaving of pipette tips, micro tubes, culture flasks etc.
- Preparation of standard buffers and stocks
- General cleaning of workstations in labs and disposal of GMO waste etc.
- Filling of MQ water reservoirs and EtOH spray flasks
- Unpacking and deregistering of chemicals
- Unpacking of plastic utensils etc. and filling of storage depots
- Supply all labs with gloves, paper tissue, aluminum paper etc.
- Arranging in place cleaned glassware
- Cleaning of Equipment
- Siliconizing of cover glasses
We expect that you are responsible, thorough and flexible in regard to time schedules. It is an advantage with some experience in lab work and students at BCs level or higher is preferable.
Terms of employment
The employment will be in accordance with the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and OAO/HK STAT. Salary group 1, scale 1 equivalent to 129 dkk per hour.
The position is permanent and would like to be occupied 15th of November, or as soon as possible hereafter. It is conditioned on an active enrolment as student at the University of Copenhagen. The working hours is 5 hours per week.
