Laboratory Technician or Biomedical Laboratory Scientist in the Schwartz Group
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Laboratory Technician or Biomedical Laboratory Scientist to join the Schwartz Group. The expected start date is 1 January 2021 or after agreement.
The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research (CBMR) is a vibrant international research environment with a focus on interdisciplinary collaboration. Our researchers share a common purpose as they seek to transform the basic understanding of the mechanisms involved in metabolic health and disease, and to accelerate this knowledge toward new prevention and treatment strategies. The Center’s research has resulted in seminal discoveries as to how genes, hormones, and environmental factors influence metabolic health and disease throughout life. You can read more about us here: www.cbmr.ku.dk.
The position available is in the Schwartz Group, headed by Professor Thue W. Schwartz. The group aims at characterizing and understanding how signaling metabolites and their specific GPCR sensors control the metabolism and function of endocrine and metabolic tissues and how they control cancer cell metabolism and defense mechanisms as the basis for developing novel means to prevent and treat obesity, diabetes and cancer. The group has a strong ongoing track record in innovation and biotech company start-ups. You can read more about the group here. At CBMR the Schwartz group works in close collaboration with the Computational Chemistry Unit of Thomas Frimurer in generation of novel pharmacological tool compounds for metabolite GPCRs
