Laboratory Technician or Biomedical Laboratory Scientist in the Single-Cell Omics Platform

We are looking for a highly skilled Laboratory Technician or Biomedical Laboratory Scientist to support the work in the newly established Single-Cell Omics platform to commence 1 January 2021 or after agreement.

The Single-Cell Omics Platform provides access to the latest single cell transcriptomics/epigenetics techniques, to scalable sequencing and to efficient computational workflows for both single cell and bulk data. As a Laboratory Technician or Biomedical Laboratory Scientist in the Single-Cell Omics Platform, you will be part of a highly ambitious and dynamic research environment responsible for supporting researchers in the CBMR community within bulk and single-cell transcriptomic and epigenetics techniques. You will be part of a small team responsible for the development and maintenance of laboratory protocols and workflows. The work includes library preparation such as RNA sequencing, DNA/RNA isolation from cells/tissue and running and maintenance of Illumina sequencers and the automated pipetting robot Sciclone IQ. In addition, the position will involve optimization and development of new protocols. On a longer term, the tasks may also include isolation of single cells/ nuclei from tissue, cell sorting and library preparation on a single-cell level.
We are looking for a proactive, interactive and highly organized Laboratory Technician or Biomedical Laboratory Scientist with the following qualifications:
- Degree as Laboratory Technician or Biomedical Laboratory Scientist (bioanalytiker) or related (academy profession degree or similar)
- Extensive hands-on experience in molecular biology methods
- Excellent skills in documentation of laboratory work
- Good written and oral communication skills in English
- Team player
- Eager to take on new assignments
- Experience in library preparation such as RNA sequencing, DNA methylation and Single-Cell RNA sequencing
- Experience in handling and servicing MiSeq, NextSeq 500 and NovaSeq 6000 Illumina sequencers
- Experience in working with automated pipetting robots
- Experience with electronic lab notebook systems

Terms of salary and employment
The employment as Laboratory Technician or Biomedical Laboratory Scientist is a full-time position for 2 years. Expected starting date is 1 January 2021.
Employment as Laboratory Technician will be in accordance with the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and OAO/HK STAT. The position is placed in salary group 3.
Employment as Biomedical Laboratory Scientist will be in accordance with the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Danish Society of Biomedical Laboratory Scientists (Danske Bioanalytikere).
Depending on qualifications, a supplement may be negotiated.
