Senior Adviser

The Department of Food and Resource Economics, University of Copenhagen, Faculty of Science invites applications for a senior advisor in Agricultural Economics and Policy from 1 August 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter,

The main task of the senior advisor is to conduct and facilitate research-based Public Sector Service support. In addition, the senior advisor may hold and participate in research projects as well as undertake relevant supervision or teaching tasks at BSc or MSc level.

Relevant experience within one or more of the following or similar topics is expected:

  • Economic evaluation of land use policies, e.g. land consolidation processes, incentives for land use changes, environmental policies, etc.
  • Evaluation of impacts of international value chains and markets in the agri-food system on economic, environmental and other issues of interest
  • Economic scenario analysis of changes in production systems and technologies
  • Forecasts and evaluation of the agricultural sector’s economic development
  • Insights and experience in applying relevant data sources.

Assessment of applicants as senior advisor will be based on documented research competencies (PhD level and experience corresponding to several years as researcher or similar) in relation to the scientific profile within the topics mentioned above, experience with research-based consultancy work and/or teaching.

The position is within the Section of Production, Markets and Policy, but the senior advisor will work both independently and in collaboration with colleagues across the Department, other Departments at KU, with authorities as well as researchers at other universities and private companies, also internationally. Therefore, well documented collaborative skills, experience with project management, and ability to comply with relatively short deadlines will be an advantage. Ability to or willingness to learn to read and speak Danish at daily use level, would be an advantage.
