Postdoc position in plant cell and developmental biology
The Department of Plant & Environmental Sciences (PLEN), Section of Plant Glyco Biology, Faculty of Science, at University of Copenhagen offers a two-year Postdoc position in plant cell & developmental biology. The work aims to deduce various aspects of cell wall synthesis and development in plant leaf and root development. The research will largely revolve around microscopy, and quantitative cell development. It is therefore expected that the successful candidate has a strong background in either different aspects of plant growth and development or in cell biology and microscopy.
The successful candidates will work in a highly cross-disciplinary research group led by Prof. Staffan Persson that routinely uses the full range of computational biology, microscopy, molecular & evolutionary biology and biochemistry. It is expected that the candidate actively applies for funding associated with the research outlined above, and that the candidate has documented experience in leading students in research projects. The successful candidate will be part of an exciting team to understand mechanisms that underpin cell wall biology, plant growth and evolution. The candidate is also be expected to engage in teaching, supervision of students and lab technicians.
The Postdoc’s responsibilities will primarily consist of:
