Postdoc in Ultra-Processed Foods and Health

Are you passionate about the complex intersections of food, nutrition, and health? Do you like to work independently and to initiate new collaboration, and do you have a drive to contribute to an ambitious project that sets out to try to find ways to tackle some of the challenges in the realm of Ultra-Processed Foods (UFPs)? Then you might be our new postdoc!  We have a 1-year fulltime postdoc position available from 1 January 2025 or soon thereafter.

The position is at The Department of Nutrition, Exercise and Sports (Rolighedsvej 26, Frederiksberg), University of Copenhagen, and is affiliated with the project “Ultra-Processed fooDs, nutrients, And Their health Effects” (UPDATE) that is funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation (UPDATE). The overall goal of the project is to update the current NOVA classification of foods.

Responsibilities and qualifications

We are seeking a motivated postdoctoral researcher interested in the intersection of food, nutrition, and health to contribute to updating the current NOVA classification of foods. Responsibilities include gathering research insights, networking, organizing events/workshops, and drafting consensus and review papers. The position may also include teaching and additional tasks.

We are looking for a candidate who has:

  • A PhD in a relevant field
  • Deep knowledge about food, nutrition, and health
  • Experience in writing various types of scientific papers
  • Experience in conducting systematic literature reviews
  • A strong interest in planning and hosting events (e.g. workshops, meetings, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

You will be part of the Sustainable Nutrition and Health research group which is one of three research groups in the Section for Nutrition and Health.

Terms of employment

The position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff.

Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.

Negotiation for salary supplement is possible.
