Assistant Professor of CRISPR genome editing

CRISPR-Cas systems are antiviral immune systems in bacteria and archaea. While some of the bacterial systems such as type II (Cas9) and type V (Cas12) have been successfully applied in genome editing, archaeal CRISPR-Cas remain to be explored. This two-year position is funded by a DFF grant aiming for exploring novel genome editing tools from archaeal genomes. The candidate is expected to possess profound knowledge in CRISPR-Cas, to be highly skilled in biochemical assays and to have excellent research record.

The assistant professor’s duties will primarily include research, including obligations with regard to publication/scientific communication and research-based teaching with associated examination obligations within CRISPR genome editing. To a limited extent this may also include performance of other duties.

Terms of employment
The position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff.

Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.

Negotiation for salary supplement is possible.
