The Department of Computer Science at the University of Copenhagen (DIKU) invites applications for a professorship in software and systems security.
The department is a vibrant and expanding research environment (https://di.ku.dk/english/research/) at the University of Copenhagen, with a variety of collaboration opportunities across different areas of computer science and other fields of research.
Applicants are expected to have a strong publication record in the general area of software and systems security. All outstanding applicants within the general area will be considered, but research areas of special interest include:
- Language-based security (e.g., secure programming languages, side channels and information flow analysis, secure compilation, software safety and security).
- System-level security (e.g., virtualization, secure operating systems, resilience and hardening of legacy code, security at the hardware/software interface).
- Privacy (e.g., privacy-enhancing software development, differential privacy).
- Cryptographic protocols (e.g., formal methods for protocol development, security of cryptographic primitives).

The department values interdisciplinary research and teaching and is actively involved in several cross-faculty research projects and educational programmes. Thus, the successful candidate must be capable of and interested in facilitating cross-disciplinary interactions both within the Computer Science Department and across the university. The candidate is expected to engage in interdisciplinary teaching, including courses for students with a non-technical background, e.g., health sciences.
Applicants are required to have university level teaching experience, documented teaching competencies and must be able to explain and reflect upon own teaching practice and portfolio. Formal pedagogical training or supervision equivalent to the University of Copenhagen teacher training program for assistant professors is required. It is preferred that the applicant has a wide-range of research-based teaching experience on all levels of the university education.
Duties include the applicant’s own research, development of the research field, assessment tasks, grant applications, and research management such as supervision and training of research fellows and other staff. The successful applicant must also teach, supervise, prepare and participate in examinations, and fulfill other tasks requested by the Department.
Assessment of applicants will primarily consider their level of documented, original scientific production at an international level, including contributions to developments in their field, as well as their documented teaching qualifications. Managerial and out-reach qualifications of applicants including ability to attract external funding will also be considered.

Terms of employment
The position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff.
Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.
Commencing salary is currently DKK 631.596 including annual supplement (+ pension DKK 108.003)
Negotiation for salary supplement is possible.
