Postdoc of Economic Design: Blockchains and Smart Contracts

A two year postdoc position is available at the Center for Blockchainsand Electronic Markets. The center is hosted by IFRO at the Faculty of Science, University of Copenhagen, and is a cross-disciplinary project involving economists and computer scientists. The center studies the interaction between three fundamental building blocks of the blockchain technology:
  1. The distributed ledger and the protocols that make it operational in practice;
  2. Smart, self-executing contracts and decentralized applications;
  3. Privacy measures to allow access to and computation on private data
In this way, we focus on the adaptation of blockchains to efficient markets with privately informed participants.
It is important that the applicant shows interest in cross-disciplinary work within the fields of microeconomics, game theory, and computer science. The applicants’ research agenda must be related to the problems of designing electronic markets, preferably in the interface between decentralized infrastructure design and market design.
Besides research, the post may also include performance of other duties including teaching and following courses in university pedagogics.
Applicants must have a PhD degree in one of the mentioned fields or equivalent, must have worked with research within relevant fields in a previous academic position, and have solid theoretical and thematic knowledge. Documented experience in securing third-party funding is preferred.
