Assistant Professor of Plant Molecular Biology & Genome Editing
The research field is Plant Molecular Biology & Genome Editing. The successful candidate will play a central role in research projects focused on plant regeneration, genome editing, and crop improvement using advanced molecular biology tools. We are looking for a candidate with documented, published expertise in tissue culture and plant regeneration techniques, including callus induction, somatic embryogenesis, and transformation of recalcitrant species. Additionally, the candidate must have published experience with genome editing using the CRISPR/Cas system.
The applicant should have practical experience with molecular biology techniques such as cloning, DNA and RNA extraction, and genotyping, as well as proficiency in droplet digital PCR, qPCR, and preparation of samples for LC-MS and RNA-seq. Furthermore, the candidate must possess excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
The role will include substantial laboratory work related to developing methods for transformation of recalcitrant plant species, as well as teaching and co-supervision of students at both undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute actively to the department’s academic community and research output.
