University of Copenhagen as a workplace
UCPH is an institution in which the opportunity for development and influence on your own working situation characterises the positive working environment. There is a special buzz associated with discovering and sharing new knowledge that has carried the University forward for centuries. There is also a special pleasure in providing operations with shared, effective administrative solutions so that the University can benefit from its diversity, size and breadth to ensure the highest quality results.
UCPH values a diverse working environment, with the focus on on-going academic development, job mobility, well-being and job satisfaction in the workplace. Wellbeing and satisfaction are surveyed annually and there are annual performance and development reviews, to ensure the right balance between the goals of the unit (section/Department, etc) and the skills development of individual staff and the way they work.
The University of Copenhagen is acknowledged as a leading European university with a strong core of basic research and research-based programmes in a broad range of academic fields. Original, innovative research lies at the heart of UCPH and the programmes it offers. The amount of research funding from private funds and state bodies is increasing, helping to create the framework for research and education whilst also opening up the University towards the community by way of outreach and collaboration.
9,700 committed staff work every day to do their bit to raise the level of ambition for the University's core tasking (about 4,400 technical/administrative personnel and 5,300 scientific staff). Then there are about 40,000 students in six faculties on about 100 programmes.
