Teaching Assistants to NBI Blok 3, 4 and 5 in 2026
The Niels Bohr Institute is looking for teaching assistants (TAs) for courses offered in the B.Sc. and M.Sc. educations on Physics and Nanoscience in the period February 1st 2026 to August 31th 2026, blok 3, 4 and 5.
We are looking for students who are eager to teach and interested in developing both academically and as educators.
We expect to hire TAs for the following courses. Since we may receive multiple applications for the same positions, we encourage you to indicate several course preferences in your application.
Blok 3:
- Data og projekt (60 hours incl. preparation)
- Kvantemekanik 1, regneøvelser (91 hours incl. preparation)
- Kvantemekanik 1, laboratorieøvelser (75 hours incl. preparation)
- Matematik F, regneøvelser (80 hours incl. preparation)
- Radioactive Isotopes and Ionizing Radiation (70 hours incl. preparation)
- High Performance Parallel Computing (92 hours incl. preparation)
- Experimental X-ray Physics (100 hours incl. preparation)
- Optics (70 hours incl. preparation)
Blok 4:
- Termodynamik(Termo) regneøvelser (100 hours incl. preparation)
- Termodynamik(Termo) laboratorieøvelser (70 hours incl. preparation)
- Kvantemekanik 2, regneøvelser (101 timer ink. forberedelse)
- Kvantemekanik 2, laboratorieøvelser (100 hours incl. preparation)
- Statistisk fysik, regneøvelser (95 hours incl. preparation)
- Matematik F2, regneøvelser (100 hours incl. preparation)
- Elektrostatik og Dataanalyse (70 hours incl. preparation)
- Mekanik for Nanoscience, regneøvelser (100 hours incl. preparation)
Blok 5:
- Kickstart (uge 34-35, forberedelse i foråret) (100 hours incl. preparation)
- Kickstart tovholder (uge 34-35, forberedelse i foråret) (125 hours incl. preparation)
Tasks
The tasks of the TAs may vary from course to course, but usually include:
- Preparation and facilitation of weekly exercises
- Weekly TA meetings between the lecturer(s) and teaching assistant(s), focusing on task-solving and pedagogical aspects
- Marking assignments or reports
Qualifications
The positions may be filled by students from Physics and Nanoscience who have passed 2 years of one of these bachelor educations. Other students may be hired if they are assessed to be qualified for the positions. In these cases, please enclose documentation of other relevant qualifications such as mentor work or other teaching, high school grades or recommendations.
It is a prerequisite that you are enrolled in a higher education.
Terms of employment
Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Studenterundervisernes Landsforbund: Cirkulære om overenskomst for Studenterundervisere ved universiteter mv.
The employment will terminate without further notice when your enrolment as a student ends. Your hours will be individually arranged for each block/semester. You are not guaranteed hours in every block. Salary is 251,21 kr. / hour (April 2025 level)

Recruitment process

Please note that some courses are filled earlier than others. As a result, the time from when the first instructor receives an offer to when all offers have been distributed may take a while.
NB: The majority of the candidates will receive information e-mails during December 2025. However, the last positions for Block 3 will be filled in start-January 2026, where you will receive an information email. The last positions for Block 4 will be filled in start-March 2026, where you will receive an information email.
