Academic employee (AC-TAP) at Department of Biomedical Sciences Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences

We are looking for a highly motivated and independent academic employee (bachelor level) to support our efforts in aging research for the months of April, May and June 2025.

 

Our research

The Desler Group, led by Professor Claus Desler, is offering an opportunity to join our team. We investigate aging at the molecular level and its link to age-related diseases. Our goal is to unveil novel molecular mechanisms in aging, discover robust biomarkers for age-related diseases, and identify potential therapeutic targets.

This project is part of an EU Horizon funded research project and splits between 9 partners across Europe. The project is highly interdisciplinary and multifaceted and lead by Claus Desler as Project Coordinator.

Your job

You will join a multi-disciplinary research team where your tasks will include the following:

 

  • Managing day-to-day lab operations to ensure a well-organized and efficient environment.
  • Inventory management reflected by ordering lab supplies and maintaining stock of essential items, such as pipette tips and Eppendorf tubes.
  • Cleaning equipment, autoclaving materials, and maintaining an orderly workspace.
  • Monitoring the liquid nitrogen tank, refilling it when necessary, and ensuring it remains full.
  • Overseeing the lab’s LinkedIn page by creating and posting content to share updates, achievements, and opportunities while maintaining a professional online presence.

 

Profile

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic academic employee with the following competencies and experience:

Essential experience and skills

  • You are a team player with both an independent and collaborative mindset
  • You are fluent in both Danish and English, written and spoken
  • You have obtained a bachelor’s degree in human biology, human physiology, medicine, molecular biomedicine, pharmaceutical sciences or equivalent.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently and maintain lab operations.
  • Proactive mindset to anticipate needs and address potential supply shortages before they occur.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively supporting a team-oriented environment.

Desired experience and skills

  • Basic understanding of laboratory practices and familiarity with lab equipment.
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn and understanding of social media content creation and engagement strategies. Desirable experience and skills

 

Place of employment

The place of employment is at the Department of Biomedical Sciences, Building 22, University of Copenhagen. We offer creative and stimulating working conditions in dynamic and international research environment. Our research facilities include modern laboratories.

 

Terms of employment

The average weekly working hours are 9 hours per week.

The position is a fixed-term position for the months of April, May and June 2025. The starting date is April 22, 2025.

Employment will be in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). The monthly salary will be based on the number of years of work experience (seniority) with the possibility to negotiate a salary supplement based on prior experiences and qualifications. The employer will pay an additional 17.1 % to your pension fund.
