Part-time academic employee (TAP-FU) to Center for Translational Neuromedicine

We are looking for a highly motivated and independent academic employee to support our neuroscience research team to commence 1 January 2027 for a 6-month project.
Division of Glial Disease and Therapeutics, Center for Translational Neuromedicine, University of Copenhagen is looking for a highly motivated TAP-FU. The position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team engaged in neuroscience research.

Description of the Center and the research group
Our center is part of the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences of the University of Copenhagen and is located at the Panum Institute. We currently have 50 employees and students. The Center comprises newly constructed laboratories with excellent facilities for neuroscience.

The research focus of the Division of Glial Disease and Therapeutics is on the basic biology of glial cells in the central nervous system, specifically astrocytes, and their role in several neurological and neuropsychiatric diseases, including stroke, spinal cord injury, epilepsy, tremor, ALS, schizophrenia. Sleep disturbances and the sleep-wake regulation of astrocytic calcium signaling are other focus areas of the Division. Our research is aimed at defining new strategies for the treatment of neurological diseases that target astrocytic dysfunction.

Your job
You will join a multidisciplinary research team working in the field of neuroscience. The ideal candidate will possess experience in various surgical techniques and hold an EU FELASA certification. You will assist in a project investigating cerebrospinal fluid drainage during a migraine attack. The candidate will assist and perform cisterna magna injections, do in vivo imaging of the cortical cerebrospinal fluid tracer influx using mesoscopic fluorescence imaging and lymphatic drainage of the cerebrospinal fluid tracers in the cervical lymphatics. Migraine rodent models will be generated using pharmacological models.

Essential experience and skills

• You hold a bachelor's degree in a relevant field 
• You have an EU FELASA certification/dispensation
• You have experience in rodent surgery
• You have experience in in vivo imaging
• Fluent in English skills, written and spoken
• You are helpful and a good colleague

Place of employment
The place of employment is at Center for Translational Neuromedicine, University of Copenhagen. We offer stimulating working conditions in a dynamic and international research environment. Our research facilities include modern laboratories and office space.

Terms of employment
The average weekly working hours are 12 hours per week. The position is a fixed-term position limited to a period of 6 months. The starting date is 1 January 2027.

Employment will be under The Circular on the Collective Agreement concerning Academics in the state sector concluded between the Danish Ministry of Finance and Akademikerne (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). There will be an opportunity to negotiate supplements based on qualifications.
