Postdoc of disciplinary approaches to technology education

Applications are invited for a two-year postdoctoral position of disciplinary approaches to technology education at the Department of Computer Science from 1 January 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Initiated in August 2023 and funded by NFF, Willum and Lundbeck foundations, the knowledge center on technology education https://science.ku.dk/presse/nyheder/2023/nyt-videnscenter-skal-sikre-digital-teknologiforstaaelse-til-alle-boern-og-unge/ is driven by the ambition to empower every child and young person in Denmark with the knowledge and skills necessary for active participation in a democratic society that is deeply influenced by digital technologies. Key school disciplines such as L1 and Mathematics plays a crucial role in obtaining this change, but the formation of new school topics, in part derived from computer science, also provide a productive approach. The post doc will investigate how new and existing disciplines constitute and shape students’ opportunities to learn about technology. This can include investigating curriculum standards, disciplinary norms and forms of communication.

The postdoc’s duties will include research within disciplinary approaches to technology educational. This involves data collection, analysis, and publication as well as teaching. The post may also include performance of other duties.

Essential qualifications is a PhD or similar within the areas education, topic didactics, or technology education. Desirable qualifications are experience with classroom research, teaching and working in large projects.

Terms of employment
The position is open from 1 January 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is temporary for two years.

The position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff.

Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.

Negotiation for salary supplement is possible.
