Three year postdoc position at the Department of Public Health, University of Copenhagen

The position:  
This post doc position aims at generating knowledge about the flows of data, people, money and tissue that connect precision medicine in Denmark to a global arena. Attention is on the mobility and monitoring of data across national borders; in particular collaborations between Danish registries/researchers and foreign research communities, tech companies, pharma, biobanks etc. The postdoc project may be focused on questions related to the construction of collectives and collective goods in genomic science, public-private partnerships in global big data science, and the translation between the generation of data and clinical practices.
The position is located in the research group MeInWe in the Center for Medical Science and Technology Studies (MEST), Department of Public Health, the University of Copenhagen (for information about the project see The postdoc will be expected to collaborate closely with fellow researchers in the MeInWe project, with colleagues in MEST and at the Department of Public Health. The position is funded by the Carlsberg Foundation. The position runs from March 1, 2019 to February 28, 2022.  
Qualification requirements:  
The applicants must  
• hold a successfully completed PhD in science and technology studies or in other fields of social science (e.g. anthropology, sociology, public health, political science) with a focus on topics closely related to the research project  
• demonstrate experience in qualitative research methods such as ethnography, interviewing, and document analysis/archival research  
• be fluent in English and preferably in Danish  
Furthermore, emphasis will be placed on the following:  
• research qualifications, which will be assessed in relation to the period of active research, the degree of originality and academic output  
• the applicant’s scientific record and academic relevance in relation to the job description  
• participation in networks, both national and international  
• good interpersonal and communication skills

Terms of employment  
Salary and other terms and conditions of appointment are set in accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) or other relevant professional organisations. The position is covered by the Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities (2013).
