The study council at the Department of Anthropology is looking for an External Lecturer for the course "Ethnographic Approaches to Migration Issues in Scandinavia".

Deadline for applications: April 2, 2017. Employment will begin on September 1, 2017.

The course introduces students to various migration and integration issues in a Scandinavian context based on ethnographic studies carried out by anthropologists. The course discusses both migration and the Scandinavian countries as ethnographic fields of research. The interconnectedness of these fields will be explored through various anthropological research areas such as identity, religion, medical anthropology, policy and the welfare state – using Danish, Swedish and Norwegian ethnography on immigration and integration.

Duration of the course is 14 weeks and classes are taught 3 hours per week, Mondays from 15:00-18:00. There is an existing course plan as well as teaching materials but the lecturer is welcome to revise the course.

Qualifications
Applicants for this position must have at least a Master degree in anthropology (kandidatgrad). Teaching experience is an advantage. We expect commitment to our discipline and a desire to ‘spread the message’ to students from other disciplines.

Salary and terms of employment
The position is for about 165 hours per course. Salary will be in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC) and amounts to DKK 254,39 per hour + vacation pay.

After the expiry of the deadline for applications, the authorized recruitment manager selects applicants for assessment on the advice of the Appointments Committee. All applicants are then immediately notified whether their application has been passed for assessment by an expert assessment committee. Selected applicants are notified of the composition of the committee and each applicant has the opportunity to comment on the part of the assessment that relates to his or her application.
