The Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen is offering an academic staff member position (AC-TAP) within the BioSAXS group for 20 months, with a possible additional 2-year extension, full-time and scheduled to start as soon as possible, e.g. from 1 February 2018 - 30 September 2019. About us  
The Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology delivers research and teaching within a wide range of drug-related disciplines, spanning the molecular, cellular, and pharmacological levels. The department has approximately 300 employees. The BioSAXS group specializes in biostructural investigations of the amyloid fibrillation process. The group is highly international, comprising 10-12 strongly motivated group members with diverse backgrounds, enabling an interdisciplinary approach to the challenging research projects. Project description  
The position is opened under the project ‘BRAINSTRUC - Complex Structural Aspects of Signalling, Inflammation and Disease in the Brain’, which is a Lundbeck Foundation Initiative comprising five large Danish biostructural research groups, providing ideal collaborative working conditions. Job description/tasks  
As our Academic staff member (AC-TAP), you will have responsibility for laboratory organizational tasks, including purchasing and general stock maintenance, managing the laboratory procedures and standards, and maintenance of laboratory equipment. You will assist the group’s researchers on the BRAINSTRUC project with the experimental work, in collaboration with PhD students and post-doctoral fellows. These projects will vary with time and will depend on your skills and interests as well as the need. This experimental work includes work with recombinant protein expression, protein purification and biophysical and biochemical characterization.  
Your qualifications  
We are looking for a structured, responsible and highly motivated person. Due to the division of the section into several laboratories distributed over three floors part of the work can be physically demanding, therefore, we are looking for an active and dynamic person with good interpersonal skills. The Academic staff member should not be afraid of learning new techniques or working with sensitive machinery, and is expected to become able to use them autonomously. Applicants must have completed their education at the MSc level. Previous experience with work in a similar position is considered to be advantageous as well as experience with some of the techniques listed above. Good oral communication skills in both English and Danish are required.

Terms of employment  
The employment is made in accordance with the Circular on the collective agreement concerning Academics in the state sector concluded between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations.
