Cleanroom Process Engineer in Quantum Photonics

THE POSITION
The Quantum Photonics group at the Niels Bohr Institute develops photonic quantum devices for novel physics experiments as well as photonic quantum technologies. We currently have an opening for a position as cleanroom process engineer. The position entails process development and nanofabrication of photonic quantum nanostructures involving quantum dots, photonic nanomembranes, electrical contacts, etc. Our technology platform is primarily III-V, in particular gallium arsenide and related compounds. The research topics span from fundamental research to patent development. The daily work will be carried out in close collaboration with the research group, which currently consists of about 30 students and staff. The fabrication facilities are currently undergoing a substantial expansion and we have access to state-of-the-art electron-beam lithography, ICP plasma tools, and much more. A minor but important part of the job will be the responsibility for keeping our fabrication tools operating with the highest possible performance and up-time.

COMPETENCES & SKILLS
We are looking for a candidate with:

• Background in experimental physics, semiconductor technology, nanotechnology, nanofabrication, photonics, or similar.
• The successful applicant must have a Master degree or the equivalent within physics or engineering.
• Extensive experience with semiconductor nanofabrication including electron-beam and UV lithography methods, wet etching, metal     deposition, plasma etching, etc.
• Strong commitment to drive technology forward
• Initiative-taking, responsible, and self-motivated.
• Team player who can supervise or join ongoing academic research projects.
• Excellent communications skills, fluent English, and positive attitude towards working with students and staff.
