PhD in Electrocatalytic Production of Chemicals, Department of Chemistry, University of Copenhagen

Two PhD positions are available in the group of Jan Rossmeisl in the group of theoretical catalysis, Department of Chemistry, Nano-Science Center, University of Copenhagen.

Project description:
The positions are financed within the Marie Sklodowska Curie Innovative Training Network (ITN) ELCOREL.

Theoretical rational design of materials for electro-catalysis. The work will involve simulations applying density functional theory and methods for including the electrochemical environment into the analysis of the simulations. Project anticipates a close collaboration with experimental researchers in the network as well as with the industrial part of the ELCOREL network. See

Start: 1 September 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter
Duration: 3 years

Suitable Candidates
You must be in the first 4 years of your research career and meet the mobility eligibility criteria as outlined by the Marie Curie ITN rules

We expect you to be a highly motivated and ambitious scientist with the following qualifications:
·         A master degree in Physics, Chemistry or related fields with a good result.
·         Documented experience in computational chemistry/physics 
·         The candidate should be able to work both independently and within an international, cross-disciplinary group and supervise students.
·         Excellent written and spoken English is mandatory.
