PhD fellowship in synthesis and characterization of hybrid epitaxial nanoscale materials at the Center for Quantum Devices, Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen.

The position  
We announce the opening of a PhD position to develop hybrid multi-functional epitaxial materials using state-of-the-art crystal growth and characterization equipment. The project work will involve synthesis, development and understanding of novel types of bottom-up grown nano-structured crystals, with the aim of developing high-quality low-dimensional components for future electronics such as quantum information processing.  
 
The candidate  
The successful applicant, who should have a strong background in physics or material science, will be enrolled as a PhD at the University of Copenhagen.

Terms of appointment and payment  
The PhD position has a duration of three years from 1. January or as agreed, and will be funded under the project HEMs-DAM, granted under the Horizon 2020, European Research Council Starting Grant.  
 
Salary, pension and terms of employment are in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Academics Central organization.  
 
The starting salary is currently at a minimum DKK 312,879 including annual supplement (+ pension up to DKK 43,219). The position is open for candidates of all nationalities.
