Fixed-term, part-time associate professorship in Tumor Immunology 
The University seeks to appoint an associate professor within tumor immunology and cancer immunotherapy to the Department of Immunology and Microbiology to commence on 1 April 2018. The post is for 4 years and part-time (5%).

Job description 
In considering applications for the position, the main emphasis will be on the applicant's ability to document a high level of original scientific work on an international level within the area of cancer immunotherapy and the genetic engineering of immune cells. The applicant should have a wide experience both with transient and permanent gene modifications of immune cells and their translation in a pre-clinical and/or clinical setting. Close collaboration with the University Hospital is required. 
The associate professor’s duties will primarily consist of: 
  • research, including obligations with regard to publication/scientific communication 
  • educational guidance and supervision of junior researchers  
  • communication of research results to the public 
Required qualifications 
The successful applicant should be able to: 
  • demonstrate a record of original scientific research at the highest international level, including considerable contribution to the development of the subject area 
  • provide research-based teaching 
  • manage research as well as communicate research results to the public 
  • contribute substantially to the financing of the position 
The associate professor is also required to be enterprising and to possess good interpersonal skills.  
Terms of employment  
The position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff.    
Salary and other terms and conditions of appointment are set in accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) or other relevant professional organization.

After the expiry of the deadline for applications, the authorized recruitment manager selects applicants for assessment on the advice of the appointments committee.  All applicants are then immediately notified whether their application has been passed for assessment. The Dean then appoints an expert assessment committee in order to make an assessment of the selected applicants for the specific post. Selected applicants are notified of the composition of the committee and each applicant has the opportunity to comment on the part of the assessment that relates to the applicant him/herself.
