Assistant professor position: Post-transcriptional gene regulation in plants, Department of Biology, University of Copenhagen

Section for Computational and RNA Biology is recruiting an assistant professor researcher to work on projects aimed at understanding mechanisms and biological functions of post-transcriptional gene regulation via small RNAs and RNA modifications in plants. The position is for two years and is available to start on December 14th 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter. The group is housed in the Biocenter in central Copenhagen, Denmark (http://www.biocenter.ku.dk/).  
 
The group uses the plant Arabidopsis thaliana as model organism, and we use a variety of genetic, biochemical, biophysical and bioinformatic techniques in our work. 
 
Qualifications 
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a Ph.D. degree in molecular biology or similar. Candidates with knowledge of RNA silencing or RNA modifications will be preferred. Applicants must document their successful Ph.D. studies by at least one first-author publication in a respectable international journal.

Salary and terms of employment 
Terms of employment and payment are in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC). For assistant professors the monthly salary is based on seniority and is per 1 December 2017 between DKK 398,693 and DKK 419,771 per year plus 17,1 % pension contribution and the possibility to negotiate further supplement.

Procedures  
After the expiry of the deadline for applications, the authorized recruitment manager selects applicants for assessment on the advice of the Appointments Committee. Selected applicants are notified of the composition of the committee and each applicant has the opportunity to comment on the part of the assessment that relates to the applicant him/herself.
