The University of Copenhagen, Department of Food and Resource Economics (IFRO) invites applications for a Professorship in the field of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The professor will be the driving force of the research group for Innovation Entrepreneurship and Business Management (IEBM). The IEBM group is a vibrant, highly motivated and ambitious research group striving for excellence in research, teaching and industry relationship/partnerships. We are looking for the professor who can help us advance and the applicant we are looking for is characterized as being engaged, flexible, sharing, caring, hard-working, and driven by a commitment to our unit. Thus, we are looking for a team-player with a strong research profile and experience with attracting external funding for research activities.

Duties include the applicant’s own research, assessment tasks, supervision and training of PhD fellows and other staff, and grant applications and management of externally funded projects. The professor is expected to be involved in the teaching and supervision tasks at bachelor and master levels related to her/his field, as well as areas such as innovation, entrepreneurship, strategizing, business management and value chains. The successful applicant must also participate in examinations and fulfill other – e.g. administrative – tasks requested by the Department.

More specific applicants must have published high quality research articles on the topic of innovation and entrepreneurship in highly ranked scientific journals and the applicant will have extensive publishing knowledge and will help guiding and exploring the full potential of the IEMB group. We expect that you will lead the IEMB team in its effort to become an important innovation research partner in international research partnerships involving the Natural Science and Health faculties. Further, your own research portfolio should bring synergy to our existing research and you will take responsibilities for developing young scholars and create an even stronger network for the team.

Applicants should have documented experience of attracting research founding at a level suitable for sustaining own research activities as well as financing PhD and Post Doc positions.

Applicants are required to have university level teaching experience, documented teaching competencies and must be able to explain and reflect upon own teaching practice and portfolio. Formal pedagogical training or supervision equivalent to the University of Copenhagen teacher training programme for assistant professors is required.

Assessment of applicants will primarily consider their level of documented, original scientific production at an international level, including contributions to developments in their field, as well as their documented teaching qualifications. Managerial and out-reach qualifications of applicants including ability to attract external funding will also be considered.

The professorship will be based in the Section for Production, Markets and Policy. The Section conducts research within the areas of management, microeconomics, and macroeconomics, with an emphasis on the national and international food and agricultural sector as well as natural sciences and health care. The section also has a wide portfolio of teaching and government consulting responsibilities matching its research goals. Thus, the section offers a strong environment for interdisciplinary collaboration concerning both research and teaching.

Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.

Commencing salary is currently DKK 596.794 including annual supplement (+ pension DKK 102.052).

Negotiation for salary supplement is possible.
