892531 Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Advanced Drug Analysis

The University seeks to appoint a tenure track Assistant Professor in Advanced Drug Analysis at the Department of Pharmacy, to commence as soon as possible.
The Department of Pharmacy is an internationally well recognized research organization within pharmaceutical sciences, spanning research within drug delivery, pharmaceutical technology and formulation design, advanced drug analysis, and clinical and social pharmacy. The Department of Pharmacy seeks to strengthen the research in advanced quantitative analytical chemistry with focus on drugs of biological origin like peptides and proteins. Reliable quantitative methods are mandatory in development and characterization of new advanced medicines, and innovative advanced analytical platforms have the capability of improving the quality of data and thereby strengthen and qualify the information obtained by experiments in drug characterization, formulation, and delivery.
The research is highly interdisciplinary and placed at the interface between analytical chemistry, physical chemistry and drug delivery in relation to biopharmaceuticals. The candidate is expected to interact with the Department's initiatives Copenhagen Center of Regulatory Science – CORS, and the LEO Foundation Center of Cutaneous Drug Delivery.
The Tenure Track Assistant Professor’s responsibilities will primarily consist of:
- research, including publication/academic dissemination duties
- grantsmanship, i.e., writing of grant applications alone and together with members of the Department of Pharmacy and with external collaborators more broadly, networking and active pitching of ideas in relevant fora
- sharing knowledge with industry and society
- research-based teaching
- participation in formal pedagogical training program for Assistant Professors
The Tenure Track Assistant Professor’s performances will be evaluated through annual evaluations. Furthermore, the Tenure Track Assistant Professors will be evaluated in mid-track appraisals.

Candidates for the assistant professorship are required to have scientific qualifications such as a PhD degree or similar scientific qualifications.
The preferred candidate will be an experimentally oriented scientist with research experience in separations and mass spectrometric detection of biopharmaceuticals in biological samples. Other things being equal, applicants with a strong pharmaceutical background and documented research experience in development and evaluation of advanced analytical methods for quantitative assessment of drug quality with focus on biopharmaceuticals will be prioritized.
Teaching experience within pharmaceutical analytical chemistry and/or quality oriented aspects of drugs at university level will be an advantage.
Research collaboration with national and international stakeholders is expected and it is important that the applicant is enterprising and collaborative of nature and possesses good communicative skills.
The tenure track assistant professor must have an academic standing showing internationally competitive research, and/or have internationally recognized high potential to make a future impact.
The assistant professor is also required to be enterprising and to possess good interpersonal skills.
Terms of employment
The terms are set according to the Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) or other relevant professional organization. The post is covered by the Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities (2007).
