Laboratory attendant (hourly paid) at DanStem

The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Stem Cell Biology (DanStem) at Faculty of Health & Medical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen is looking for a hourly paid attendant to join the Lab-group starting January 2 2018 or upon agreement.  
The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Stem Cell Biology – DanStem has been established as a result of a series of international recruitments coupled with internationally recognized research groups focused on insulin producing beta cells and cancer research already located at the University of Copenhagen. DanStem addresses basic research questions in stem cell and developmental biology and has activities focused on the translation of promising basic research results into new strategies and targets for the development of new therapies for cancer and chronic diseases such as diabetes and liver failure. We are seeking a service minded and conscientious attendant to handle various practical tasks in and around the laboratory. You will be part of the Lab. team and work closely with the lab manager and another attendee.  
Job description: 
  • Various tidying and cleaning tasks in the laboratory 
  • Washing, autoclaving and cleaning laboratory equipment 
  • Unpacking and stocking up deliveries 
  • Ordering of basic supplies for the lab 
  • Collect and dispose of laboratory waste 
  • Collect laundry and pick up clean supplies 
The weekly working time will be approximately 10 hours per week. 
Your profile 
  • You are stable, responsible, and detail oriented. 
  • You approach your task systematically and you can work independently and thoroughly. 
  • You are service minded and conscientious and enjoy working in a multi-cultural research environment. 
  • You have good communication skills in English and Danish 
  • Experience in working in the GMO laboratories is an advantage.

Employment conditions 

The place of work is at DanStem, University of Copenhagen, Blegdamsvej 3B, Copenhagen.  
Salary, pension and terms of employment are in accordance with the provisions of the collective Agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Organizations of Public Employees – governmental institutions (the OAO-S collective agreement) and under “Lager og –handelsarbejderne i hovedstaden”. The minimum hourly pay is: DKK 141,23
