Laboratory technician

Laboratory technician or equivalent, Center of Neuroscience, University of Copenhagen 
Description of the research team: Our research group at the Center of Neuroscience we work with molecular, cellular and physiological studies of the nervous system that control motor behavior in the normal and diseased brain. Our group is part of a larger environment with other groups that are also working in neuroscience.  
We are looking for a laboratory technician or a person with an equivalent degree who has knowledge in molecular biology as well as experience with taking care of the lab environment in an active research laboratory.  
The work includes:  
Genotyping of mice and handling of mice 
Order lab equipment, experimental animals, reagents, etc. 
Get quotations for equipment and consumables 
Ensure that the lab complies with rules and regulations 
Carry any other relevant duties as may associated with the position  
Laboratory technician degree or equivalent is required 
Documented work experience from high quality academic or industrial laboratories is required 
Proven experience in molecular biology is a great advantage 
Good communication skills, both oral and written, is essential both in Danish and in English. Considering that the research environment is highly international good knowledge of English is a requirement 
Terms of salary and employment:  
The appointment is in accordance with the joint collective agreement between the Danish Financial Ministry and Public Employee Organizations - The Government Area (OAO-S Joint Agreement) and after the organization agreement for HK-laboratory technicians in government service. 
The position is a fulltime position and will be at the level of salary group 3 with the possibility to negotiate a salary supplement. To this there is a monthly contribution to pension fund according to the collective agreement. In all cases, ability to perform the job will be the primary consideration regardless of your personal background and status to apply. The position is funded for seven years. 
Start date: August 1 2017 but negotiable
